Optinet Systems Inc. is a seasoned team of industry professionals whom have extensive experience in the construction of communications networks. This team has an impressive combined work experience.
Many of the principal employees, as well as many of our senior members of the Optinet team have directly participated throughout the telecommunications, data communications, and low voltage sectors, developing and delivering specialty installation and test services.
Our team has provided equipment, infrastructure, systems, and services to many significant deployments throughout the British Columbia Lower Mainland.
We continue to lead in the provisioning of reliable network design and site installation services for direct clientele, consulting agencies, and commercial and private enterprises.

Suzanne A. Sherrod, President & Managing Director, Sales
Suzanne has 20 years of progressive sales and management experience in the telecommunications industry, beginning in 1984 with a company known as BMS Communications Services. Since that time, Suzanne has distinguished herself as a leader both in the workplace and the industry at large. She served on the Board Of Directors of NECSI (North American association of approximately 150 NEC telecom dealers) from 1977-2000 and continues to participate in the NECSI organization as Editor of the quarterly newsletter, Crosstalk. Suzanne has developed and cultivated business relationships throughout the Lower Mainland and is equally empathetic to the needs of small business operators and the challenges of CIOs of major corporations. Suzanne strives to maintain a positive, highly interactive environment enabling exceptional people to deliver extraordinary performance and customer service.
R.C. (Ron) Botting, Principal / General Manager
Ron Botting has been actively employed within the telecommunications Industry, in British Columbia across Canada and Internationally for 30 Years - actively participating with all aspects of technical business development and corporate business development, relative to the deployment, implementation and maintenance of Telecommunications and Data Communications Networks
As a communications technologist, Ron Botting began his early career installing and commissioning Microwave Radio and TDM transmission equipment throughout Canada and the Middle East, later moving into senior roles in Equipment Engineering and Project Management.
As an executive business manager, Ron has developed, staffed and managed business plans and budgets in excess of 35 million annually. Ron has provided the corporate and technical guidance enabling Optinet to grow in a measured and controlled manner to its' current complement of approximately 35 skilled and qualified technicians and technologists.
Denise Newvine-Hodges, Telecommunications Specialist
Denise brings 19 years telecommunications experience encompassing both operations and sales and works diligently on behalf of her clients to provide innovative solutions and ongoing consultative assistance.
Ranbir Mehroke, Account Executive
Ranbir Mehroke is a BCIT graduate from the Telecommunications Technician Program at BCIT. Prior to joining Optinet in 2003, Ranbir worked with Telus for three years in the Network Provisioning Department as an Equipment Installer. Ranbir has acquired hands on skills with copper, fiber and wireless related communication technologies as well as lab installation and programming of NEC telephone systems and can offer practical assistance to clients in making infrastructure wiring and telephony decisions.
Diana Sims, Project Coordinator/Trainer
Diana is a 13-year telecom “veteran” with a wealth of management and technical experience and also speaks fluent Cantonese. She ensures the smooth coordination and implementation of projects, administers and teaches a “train the trainer program”, provides specialized user tutorials, and carries technical certifications for NEC, AltiGen and Active Voice systems. Diana estimates she’s overseen the installation and cutover of several thousand telephone lines.
Dave Fleming, Manager/Field Operations
As a principal employee of Optinet, Mr. Fleming has over 18 Years of construction experience relating to the provision of telecommunications infrastructure. Dave has worked for many years with senior members of the Optinet team, managing and directing field activities on a variety of infrastructure related projects throughout Vancouver and South Western British Columbia. Mr. Fleming is responsible for all aspects of project implementation, ensuring each element is addressed and that personnel are sufficiently informed to follow parameters outlined in each job specification.
Dave Anderson, Director, Access Control & CCTV
Dave Anderson has been designing, managing, installing, servicing and maintaining large-scale institutional security, surveillance and communications systems for over 20 years. A BCIT alumnus, Dave also holds certifications for leading manufacturers including LENEL, LORONIX, PELCO, Fiber SenSys, CEM, Panasonic and others. Manufacturers, consultants, and end users respect Dave’s technical expertise and commitment to customer service. Optinet Systems provides Dave a positive and dynamic environment in which to enhance his opportunities.
Ed Fabian, Account Manager, Network Services
Ed has over 18 years in field technical services and structured wiring estimation and project implementation. Ed is a personable, sincere, knowledgeable and committed telecommunications professional. , Ed's broad industry experience is relied upon by many tier-one clients. While some account managers may talk capability, Ed's capabilities are many, and he is even a better listener. Clients trust him to get the job done and he consistently delivers.
Janusz Leszczynski, Account Manager, Network Services
Janusz is a leading Project / Account Manager on the Optinet team. Janusz works tirelessly to serve Optinet customers and to deliver best practice in the configuration, supply and installation of network infrastructure projects. Janusz cultivates a loyal account base as he makes himself available to his clients 24 x7, assisting clients with the challenges of complex network installations and delivering Optinet services on time and on budget. Also a principal employee of Optinet, Janusz brings commitment, energy and great sense of humor.
Trevor Corness, System Engineer
NNCSS, JNCIS, CCNA, CCDA, MCSE, SunCSA, SunCNA, CheckpointCSA, CompaqASE, CompaqACT, A+, MCP+
Trevor specializes in designing, building, optimizing, and maintaining mission critical voice and data infrastructures. Trevor has acquired business skills and practical experience in network configuration and installation from AltiGen, Nortel Networks, Cisco, and Juniper; and systems administration experience from AltiGen, Active Voice, Sun Microsystems, Compaq, Checkpoint, and Microsoft to name a few. In the past 7 years, Trevor has held technical positions in network environments while continually expanding his professional certifications and gaining valuable experience.
Toby Botting, Senior Technician, Network Services
Toby Botting has established a stellar reputation as an innovator and troubleshooter in the implementation and service of key, PBX, and voice processing systems. Toby is a graduate of the BCIT Technician Program and over his 18 year career has participated in projects of significant scope. He has installed systems throughout the Province of B.C. and has made many friends. Toby is highly committed to clients often doing the “extras” that make a difference.
Kelly Evans, Senior Technician, Network Services
Kelly Evans holds extensive technical certifications including Key Telephone System, PBX, TDM, CCIS and IP Peer-to-Peer networks, voice/desktop messaging, voice loggers and in building wireless. In addition to his technical qualifications, Kelly possesses leadership and communications skills contributing to smooth implementations and high customer confidence.
